The Gift
A few short years ago my daughter met her (now) husband in a moment of sweet chance.
Angela had arrived at a job site and parked. She drives a blue Subaru Impreza. In that same lot was an interesting red Subaru BRZ. So she walked over and admired it. In the same building complex, her future husband was working, and people came up to him and told him that a girl was wandering around his car. So he went out to see what was going on. Mel and Angela stood in the parking lot and exchanged Subaru stories and (I guess) numbers.
After a few years, he asked for her hand in marriage. Angela had her wedding ring made at InBloom and Mel selected one with her help.
I had planned on getting them a bi-colored stone to represent how they met and fell in love. And at InBloom at an event that was held there, I found a watermelon tourmaline that had the colors I was looking for. Plus a few other wonder gems.
Last summer, the family was told that there was to be a new member. This January, Chanah Alana Ranson made her grand entrance.
And Inbloom was able to complete the simple design. I had asked that they set the tourmaline in a simple basket mounting with the addition of a small moonstone heart at the bottom. I had selected the moonstone because I did not know what month the little bundle was going to arrive and I loved the adularescence that emanated from the little heart.
My little girl has a small token of her parent’s love story and her grandmother’s love of beauty.
Love….beauty…..and I know she will grow up kind and smart. What else could I wish for?
