What's Hot in Custom Fine Jewelry

Fall 2026 Trends

At InBloom Jewelry, no two clients, design journeys, or custom pieces are alike—but our custom jewelry can still reveal fascinating style trends over time. To share our observations, we collected five style trends that stood out in 2026—each one something that has been consistently shaping the conversations around our design tables. Read on to explore "what's hot" in the world of custom jewelry.

No. 1: Hero stones in every hue

Color-forward hero stones are making a statement in fine jewelry, particularly in engagement rings. From softly hued sapphires and warm champagne diamonds to striking greens, blues, pinks, and peaches, clients are embracing a broader spectrum of gemstones and choosing stones for their individual beauty and character. Often larger in scale or selected for a distinctive cut or color, these stones are designed to have presence.

This trend reflects a broader shift toward hyper-personal jewelry—pieces guided by individual taste, meaning, and story rather than convention. Bespoke design opens the possibilities, allowing color to capture a favorite hue, evoke a feeling, mark a milestone, hold personal significance, or simply bring joy. The result is jewelry with confidence and character that feels unmistakably personal and distinctly your own.

No. 2: Texture tells a story

From organic relief and nature-inspired patterns to personalized engraving, texture is bringing depth and meaning to custom jewelry. We’re seeing it especially in rings and wedding bands, where even a subtle surface detail can transform a familiar form into something entirely individual. Engraving can preserve a precious date or memory, while milgrain and hand-granulations bring the artistry of another era into a modern design.

Texture also gives men more ways to personalize a wedding band without making it feel ornate. And for couples who want their rings to feel connected without matching exactly, a shared finish or coordinated pattern offers a thoughtful link.

The trend reflects a desire for handcrafted jewelry rich with character—pieces that express something meaningful and could belong only to the wearer.

No. 3: Gemstone clusters, personally composed

A playful, artful mix of gemstones in varying colors, shapes, and sizes gives cluster jewelry its distinctive character. Rather than following a prescribed arrangement, each stone contributes something different to a composition that feels beautifully individual and intentionally unexpected—perfectly imperfect.

We’re seeing particular interest in cluster pendants through our heirloom transformation projects. The format allows clients to bring gemstones from different pieces—and sometimes different generations—together in one new design. Birthstones, inherited gems, personal favorites, and newly selected stones come together to make a fresh statement.

Cluster pendants are also remarkably versatile. Depending on their scale, they can become statement pieces, everyday signatures, or personal additions to a layered necklace look. Colorful, modern, and filled with personality, they offer a fresh way to wear meaningful gemstones while creating something completely original.

No. 4: Intricate gallery details

Settings are doing more than securing a gemstone—they’re becoming an expressive part of the design. Sculptural tulip prongs, elevated settings, and intricate gallery details bring artistry to unexpected places and create interest from every angle. Hidden accents and discreet design elements add another layer of discovery, carrying meaning known only to the wearer.

We’re seeing these details become especially important as clients embrace larger center stones in engagement rings. The added scale creates more room to explore the ring’s profile and underside, transforming the gallery into a canvas for custom design. Tulip prongs offer a delicate, nature-inspired approach, framing the stone in a graceful form that feels both romantic and distinctive.

The trend reflects a growing appreciation for craftsmanship and detail. In bespoke jewelry, the setting supports the gemstone—but it can also carry artistry, symbolism, and a story of its own.

No. 5: Mixed metals. No rules.

Mixed metals are having a moment, but their appeal goes beyond a fleeting trend. Bringing different-colored metals together in a piece of jewelry reimagines the rules and offers clients more ways to express their personal style and preferences. Choosing a metal is a creative decision and it doesn’t have to be singular—our clients have been mixing it up beautifully.

Contrasting tones can add depth, tension, and visual interest, frame and enhance a gemstone, or bring balance to a design. The approach works well in stacking rings and layered pieces. We love the warmth of yellow gold accents and the striking contrast of engraved yellow gold with smooth white gold. Mixed metals can give an heirloom a fresh update while preserving the character that makes it meaningful.
